For over thirty years, the term "climate change" has had a fairly firm place in the news worldwide. Was something happening? Was anyone moving? With the Corona pandemic came new challenges. The Russian assault on European values projected uncertainties to new levels. We are in processes of change to a much greater extent than imaginable a few years ago. Is it considered an admission of helplessness and helplessness when we write: "We have no recipe?" But do science, civil society, business or politics have a formula or recipe? There are all sorts of formulae - contradicting, helping, damaging, useless and complementing ones. It would be dishonest to maintain that we have a formula against ailments, certain phenomena or problems. If we ask for recipes, knowing that they cannot exist as simple instructions for action in complex societies, we distance ourselves from those who pretend to already know everything that is necessary.
What recipes do artists develop against a backdrop of slow but constant change, social upheavals and thought routines that suddenly no longer apply? In the workshop, we want to talk about as many recipes and approaches as possible on the basis of the artistic contributions to the exhibition and reflect on them together.
Desired ingredients: Empathy, Unease, impartiality, acceptance, creativity, listening, courage, unexpectedness, understanding, sharing, participation, anger, productivity, time, development, compromise humour and criticism.
Input: Prof. Hannes Krämer (University Duisburg-Essen) "The contribution of art and culture to crisis management"
